Naomi, founder of Doda Yoga, relocated to Andover in 2020 and quickly discovered the impactful work of I Can Move More, delivered by Valley Leisure. Inspired by their mission to make movement accessible to all, Naomi began collaborating with the team in 2024 alongside Andover Mind. Through this partnership, she now delivers both Yoga for Wellbeing and Chair Yoga sessions, supporting a wider and more diverse community. What started as a shared vision has grown into a meaningful partnership, making a real difference to people’s lives…
Empowerment
Naomi highlights that the hardest step for many individuals is simply walking through the door. Through supportive, inclusive sessions, participants are empowered to take control of their wellbeing. Naomi has witnessed powerful transformations – from individuals gaining confidence and independence, to pursuing new careers and finding greater satisfaction in everyday life. These sessions provide a safe space where people feel encouraged to grow at their own pace.
Excellence
The collaboration is built on a shared commitment to delivering high-quality, inclusive services. Both Doda Yoga and Valley Leisure strive to remove barriers to participation, ensuring that sessions are accessible, welcoming, and tailored to a wide range of needs. Naomi describes the partnership as an ongoing learning journey, continuously evolving to better support participants and deliver meaningful outcomes.
Community
Beyond physical wellbeing, the sessions foster strong social connections. Naomi has seen first-hand how classes, particularly Chair Yoga, have become a go-to session for community building. Participants regularly meet in their own time, forming friendships and support networks that extend beyond the class itself. These connections play a vital role in reducing social isolation and improving overall wellbeing.
“Naomi is the best teacher, she makes such a difference to everyone”
This kind of feedback highlights the genuine difference Naomi’s sessions make, not just in improving physical wellbeing, but in boosting confidence, creating a sense of belonging, and positively impacting people’s day-to-day lives.
Inspiration
Naomi draws constant inspiration from the people she works with and the ethos of Valley Leisure. The dedication to inclusivity and the visible impact on individuals’ lives reinforces her passion for what she does. Seeing participants grow in confidence, build relationships, and embrace new opportunities continues to motivate and inspire her work every day.
